When you think of fitness training, the first thing that comes to mind is losing weight. It seems like weight issues have become synonymous to physical training which is not exactly true. This article attempts to tackle the other types of in home Personal Training which are of equal importance to health and fitness.

Sport Specific Training

The ideal sport specific training is for a client to choose a particular sport, e.g. basketball, soccer, boxing, and go through trainings and workshops to practice the skills of the said sport. A trainer, then, creates a specific program meant to enhance athletic performance which includes speed, flexibility, endurance, agility, sport techniques and strategies, injury preventive measures, and body conditioning. Kids Fitness As early as 10 years old, kids are encouraged to live a healthier life and establish a balance in their lifestyles. The earlier kids are exposed to exercising and sport development, the better and healthier the future they will have. There are specialty fitness centers that cater to kids designing activities that include yoga, wall climbing, martial arts and other athletic activities.

Elderly Fitness

Even the elders, contrary to common beliefs of many people, can seek for a Personal Training. Of course, their physical activities may be limited and so do their fitness goals but there are centers that create programs with light exercises which are geared towards the improvement of their mobility and muscle strength.

Body Building

The common goal in body building training programs is to lose the fats and build more muscles. Although there is weight loss involved here, this training is not advisable for those who want a slim and contour body as a result of workout.

Sport Injury Rehabilitation

This is probably the most specialized Personal Training. After an injury has been treated and cared for, an athlete is usually advised to continue with training except for the injured part. Hence, an alternative training program needs to be established to match the condition of the athlete. Once the doctor gives his go signal that the athlete is ready to resume normal training including the injured part, a preparatory program must be in place. The injury may have healed already but it may not be still fit to train immediately. To prevent it from recurring, a lighter training regimen is created to slowly regain its strength.
