Do not Just Focus on Building One Body Part per Session

If you want to make your muscles lean, make sure not to focus on building just one part of your body every time you workout. Doing this will just make your muscles to grow so big, and this is not what your goal is. The key to do it is to exercise your body parts all at the same time - your back, biceps, chest, shoulders, legs and the rest.

Take in More Calories than You Burn

Keep in mind that it would require a positive energy balance, which means that you should consume more calories than you burn. Therefore, the amount of calories that you must eat each day should depend on the amount of calories that you burn in the gym every day. However, there should be some limits on your calorie consumption because if you eat too many extra calories, you would end up gaining more fats, too and again, you don't really need to bulk-up on muscles.

Perform Full Body Exercises

Both men and women could build lean muscle fast if they do full body exercises aside from doing the usual muscle building exercises. You need to have a complete understanding on how your body is working, so try to perform natural movements in order to attain your natural form. Examples of full body exercises that are great for build muscles and burning fat are squats, pushups, deadlifts, overhead press, etc.

Limit Your Protein Intake

It's true that protein shakes can make you to gain muscles fast, in fact, one glass of protein shake can add as much as 300 grams of protein a day. But extra protein could mean extra muscles, and remember, building lean muscles does not mean gaining big muscles. Aside from gaining gigantic muscles, some of those extra proteins that you will get from these shakes could be stored as fats in our body, and we certainly do not want that to happen.

Whether you are trying to lose weight or gain weight, lean muscles is a healthier option because it is easier to stick to a routine and is a much more natural way to stay fit. Well, except if you are trying to become a body builder - in that case, you should build bulky muscles. But for most people who just want to stay fit, the best option is to build lean muscle, and not to bulk-up massive muscles all over your body.
