Green Tea: Weight Loss Tips You Need To Know

By Betty B. Koland

Most people have attempted dieting at various periods in their life. It's just as likely you've had some success, only to find yourself slipping into old habits and having to start all over again. Never let setbacks get you down permanently. Success is feasible, and is a reward on its own. The following are some some great ideas that can keep your motivation high.

For some, weight loss is easier if they do not have a workout routine. This is especially true for people who do not like to exercise. Instead, trick yourself into doing fun activities such as walking the dog, throwing a football, riding your bike, or going on a nature walk. This way you'll enjoy the exercise you're getting.

Try ridding your diet of red meat to lose weight. These are very high in bad fats and cholesterol, which are not heart healthy. Rather than choosing red meats, consider lean proteins such as fish and fowl.

Make sure to form good habits in your new weight loss regimen and stick to them. Making positive changes in your diet is a great way to make sure the diet sticks. If it is hard to cut the doughnut shop out of your morning routine then create a new routine, like stopping at a store with fresh fruit. It's a lot easier to try to make new habits rather than trying to break old ones.

Begin your weight loss regimen with a cardiovascular routine. Usually called "cardio," these activities include bicycling, running, speed walking and other exercises that boost your heart rate. Once your heart rate climbs and stays elevated, you are in peak fat-burning mode. Make an attempt to fit 30 minutes or more of cardiovascular exercise into at least 3 days of the week.

Ask one of your friends to be your exercise buddy. This helps you to socialize so that you are having fun while burning calories. Also, your partner and yourself can have a nice chat as you workout. More than likely this will lead to you enjoying your time exercising and even looking forward to it, and pretty soon you won't even realize you're losing weight.

When you meet a goal that you have set for yourself, indulge in a reward. Purchase something that you have had your eye on or do an activity that you like. This helps to increase your level of motivation while working out.

During the day, try to incorporate walking into your routine. Walking gets your metabolism up and going, helps to lower blood pressure and speed up digestion. Depending on the intensity, walking can burn up to 500 calories each hour.

Cut down on your calories. Fat has twice as many calories as protein or carbohydrates. Reduce the amount of high fat foods, and limit your overall intake of oil and dairy products. Eating plenty of high-fiber foods will enable you to feel full and will help you stick to your diet.

Flatten your belly while sitting behind your desk! To flatten you belly, you can work out the transversus abdominis. To do this exercise, suck in your belly button and hold to increase tension.

Make sure that any weight loss goal you set is realistic. Despite what infomercials may say, losing 50 pounds in a week isn't possible. Having realistic goals helps you stay motivated. If your goals are unrealistic, you are doomed to fail. Shoot for losing between 1.5 and 2 pounds weekly.

Foods that fill you up and do not contain high levels of fat are perfect for a diet. If you eat a soup or salad prior to a meal, you will not eat as much of the higher calorie foods served during the main meal, yet you will feel satisfied. A large glass of water, a low calorie drink, or a cup of coffee will do the same thing.

Using the tips provided, you will be able to achieve your ideal weight with ease. Stay motivated and committed so that you can keep trying, even when it seems too difficult. Soon you will have the body you have always wanted.
